The Retail Food Program of Food Banks Canada wanted to build a toolkit/guidebook to be used by food banks to help them start a food recovery program in their community.
Food Banks Canada’s Retail Food Program pairs participating locations of national retailers with local community food banks across the country to provide a regular, ongoing supply of essential items, while also reducing the cost of food waste experienced by retailers.
This interactive toolkit will help them take the first steps in building a lasting partnership with retailers in their community, so they can start receiving surplus food donations on a regular basis.
The guidebook needed to be illustrated in an engaging way to help with the flow of information and brightens up the content to not be not so dry.
The design proposal had a set of iconography, construction of infographic blurbs, and assigned colours for each step.
